How much probiotic yogurt should I consume a day?

We recommend you begin by introducing one to two tablespoons a day as all of our bodies vary, but we do suggest consuming enough yogurt to re-balance the probiotic count for your individual system. Usually that varies between one tablespoon to six ounces of yogurt per day.

Why do I benefit from this probiotic yogurt?

Our microbiome is responsible for many important functions in our body, without a healthy balance of these gastrointestinal bacteria-or our microbiome- many diseases and deficiencies arise. As we damage this fragile environment through the consumption of heavily processed foods, alcohol, and more specifically antibiotics, we must find a source of probiotics to counteract the damage we have done.

Probiotic yogurt vs probiotic capsules?

The greatest source of probiotics is from fermented and cultured foods such as our probiotic coconut yogurt and coconut non-dairy kefir. It is in the fermentation process that the probiotic bacteria become active and slightly acidic, and are then given a media that our body can digest and more effectively pass the bacteria onto our gastrointestinal tract. With any probiotic, our natural stomach acids destroy a large percentage of the bacteria before they are able to reach the gastrointestinal tract. By fermenting the cultures in a slightly acidic environment such as yogurt, they are then better able to withstand the intensity of our stomach acid, allowing for a higher percentage of the probiotic bacteria to then pass onto our intestines. Unfortunately the capsule probiotics are dormant and not alive, therefore they are unable to withstand the intensity of these digestive acids and more-if not all-die off before entering the gastrointestinal tract.

What is the source of the probiotic? Why is yours special?

Most companies focus on the most dominant probiotics cultivated in our microbiome. Yet much research has shown that many substrain probiotics have particular and important functions that can be crucial to our gut and overall health. We have researched extensively about the importance of certain substrains and included these unique strains in our product. In our 15 strains we include Substrains like Ganeden BC 30, Acidophilus DDS-1, B. Coagulans GBI-30 6086, L. Plantarum 299v that have been very promising in research for a host of health conditions.

How long does the probiotic yogurt last?

When refrigerated and unopened the yogurt should last at least as long as stated on the jar, approximately one month from the date of production. To receive the optimal benefits from your purchase, consume within a week of opening. As with all probiotic products, the bacteria count dies off with time – reducing your benefit. It is also important to consume within a week as contaminants can enter the jar and shift the microbial environment.

Why does the consistency change?

As with anything found in nature, no two coconuts are the same which affects the consistency of our yogurts greatly. The coconut milk powder we use varies in fat content, and during the culturing process many of the essential fatty acids and fats can separate from the liquid and rise to the top. Because we strive to give our customers the highest quality product, we do not use ANY thickening agents or filler, although they would help control the consistency.

Is your probiotic yogurt organic?

We are very conscious of the importance of organic farming methods and therefore source our coconuts from an older grove that was raised before the introduction of pesticides and genetically altered seeds. Although we are certain our coconuts do not contain any residue from pesticides, coconut farming does not require the use of them as coconut trees are incredibly hardy and are not easily affected by insects or fungal disturbances. Because of this most Asian coconut growers do not apply for the costly process of organic certification.

Why does the yogurt taste metallic and/or different from what I have tasted in previous yogurts?

These yogurts are unique in that no other product such as this has existed before, therefore many of our new customers are not accustomed to the New Earth flavor. Our product does not contain any flavoring agents, added thickeners, or refined sugars which usually hide any impurities in flavor or texture in other products. By not hiding behind these added agents, we are better able to experience the sweet balance of the raw coconut milk powder with the sour nature of the probiotics.

Is it safe for pets to eat?

Our probiotic coconut yogurt is safe and very beneficial for dogs and cats. Our kitties love it!

Can I use it for my complexion?

We have received several positive reports from customers who have used the probiotic coconut yogurt on their skin, specifically their acne. Even still, every body is different and we cannot guarantee that this is an effective product for acne and or other issues with complexion.

Can it be used for romantic purposes?

The yogurt is safe to use as a personal lubricant, and is very beneficial for the bacterial balance of the vagina.

Can it be used as an insert for candida?

The yogurt is very beneficial for issues of candida as it shifts the microbial climate for candida to survive. In conjunction with New Earth’s coconut water kefir the bacterial environment shifts towards probiotics and candida can no longer thrive.

Can it be used for implant enemas?

Probiotics, especially as kefirs or high potency coconut yogurts, are a great instrument to reintroduce high quality probiotics into our digestive tract.

Where do you source your coconut?

Currently we source our coconut from India, but we are always looking for alternatives.

Is it a raw probiotic?

The yogurt is made small-batch in our commercial facility in California. As it is made with probiotics the temperature stays within body-temperature range, maintaining the potency of the probiotics.

Where do you source the agave?

We source our agave from an organic farm in Mexico.
